The SmartARS (Animal Registration System) app is brought to you by the MANDRA team, developers of iHerd, the popular global livestock management app. The app is designed to work with MANDRA’s innovative SmartARS hardware product which is available for sale on the MANDRA website at www.mandra.co/smartars. The SmartARS system is a low-cost next generation weighing solution which puts weights and RFID in your hand through your iPhone or iPad and connects your yards with your office. MANDRA’s SmartARS reduces cost by leveraging farm equipment already in use such as Scales and RFID scanners.

MANDRA’s SmartARS is essentially a hub which takes inputs from the physical world and converts them into information that is stored and processed by the MANDRA cloud service to deliver real value to end users. The system allows the instantaneous wireless transfer of data captured on individual cattle from scales and scanning equipment at yards to the MANDRA cloud, from where the information can be accessed via mobile devices or home computers by the producer, his staff and management.

MANDRA’s SmartARS allows for all age and weight gain data captured on each individual animal as it moves through the yards to be instantly transferred wirelessly via Bluetooth to the cloud for safe and free storage plus the information is also stored on the device.

Existing herd recording/management systems generally require the electronic recording box to be physically taken from the yards where the data is captured and taken back to the office to be downloaded on a computer.

MANDRA’s SmartARS gives users the ability to link their yards with the office, in a way that you can either access the information directly from the cloud, or you can email that information straight back to a purchaser or an owner of a business or whoever you might want to send it to. It also gives the ability to set draft gates and know exactly what number of animals have been drafted out in each direction in a transaction.

MANDRA’s SmartARS system has been designed to accept Firmware updates to allow for ongoing improvements without having to purchase new hardware.

Using SmartARS means you can weigh cattle in the yards, and your mobile device will either stream the information straight onto the cloud if in range or store it until it comes into connectivity again which is then accessible by anyone that needs to receive the information. Users can also send the information by email to any purchaser or anyone interested in what is happening in the yards.

The information is displayed and stored on the user’s iPhone or iPad and then uploaded to secure cloud storage as soon as they have internet connectivity. The weight sessions and drafting capabilities of the SmartARS do not require an internet connection, the iPhone or iPad used during these operations essentially stores the data and forwards the data at a time it does come into connectivity.

Synchronization between devices and the server means that all of the user’s data is automatically updated from an iPhone or an iPad into an existing database, saving time and boosting productivity.
